Rabbit stands for constructive fear. Fear keeps the rabbit alive, and it is fear of the right things – the shadow of the hawk, the stomp of a human – that leads rabbit down the right paths. Rabbit is also – naturally – a major fertility animal, being a prolific breeder, and is very family oriented. If you were chasing a rabbit, you were following your fear a bit, running to break through previous barriers.
