Rat is resourceful, clever (and a little enterprising!). He is adaptable, and can find things that others cannot. I’m reminded of Templeton in Charlotte’s Web, the most resourceful creature (but a little at-risk for greed), able to find things and solutions.
Mouse sees incredible amounts of detail, rat is like mouse, only more fearless! He is more aggressive than mouse, but that is usually in a pack – this was a solo rat.
Rat is especially related to traps – if there is a way out of trap, he will find it.
Having Rat as an animal helper is asking you to look at how you can be resourceful – you may think you are trapped, but there is a way out. Use your Rat medicine to find a way out of a difficult trap! Rat also encourages you to initiate – to make a move. He tests everything to find a solution.
