Wasp, like cicada, represents order. He may be more of an enforcer of order, rather than a teacher. As we discussed, wasp has been an important signal to me – they are intelligent (as a hive, but they all know what one learns), deadly warriors, and pollinators. Some African teachings talk about wasp as a symbol of evolution and self control (my “year of the wasp” was also a year of Spiritual Emergence for me), as well as self determination. European tribes focused on the pollinating gifts of the wasp. Native American tribes speak about wasp as a creator, arranger, and engineer of “the way things are.”
Many see wasp as a harbinger of spring and fertility. Wasp speaks to new beginnings, formation of new structures in life.
