This is more information on fox, based on Alexis Cartwright’s “Transference Healing Animal Magic”
Fox teaches detachment. S/he is kin to dog, wolf and jackal. Unlike these others, fox is a solitary animal. Fox lives on the border areas, fringes of forest. S/he hides and lives in the forest, but feeds in the fields. S/he has remarkable ability to evade capture, and it is wise to watch where sh/e moves and follow his/her lead.
In Scottish folklore, the people would only cross the ice if a fox has safely crossed before them – trusting the wise instincts of the fox to know whether or not the ice is safe.
Fox hunts at twilight: dusk, or the hours just before dawn. In some cultures (such as Japan) fox is portrayed as a trickster, a character who breaks the rules by trickery or thievery.
Fox warns that you need to increase your flexibility and adaptability. You could be emotionally drained or burdened by others’ needs, or preyed upon by people who want something from you. Fox reminds you to remain clear and non-judgemental, and to maintain your boundaries in these situations.
Keep a sense of detachment, and fox will teach you how to gather the wisdom you need to move forward.
The llama is curious, intelligent, and easily trained, but an overloaded llama will not hesitate to complain or dig in his heels. Llama reminds you to persevere through the steepest mountains. If you fall down, Llama helps you back up again.
From:
Trusted Mediums Spirit Animals – Llama“The llama symbolism appears in your life to remind you to go through life slowly. Make each choice or decision carefully, and take your steps with certainty.
“Don’t be in a hurry to get to your destination. Don’t be impatient to see results so that you don’t risk falling.”
and
“With the llama totem, never be afraid to retreat from hostile or unhealthy situations. Remove yourself from social circles that are causing you emotional or mental stress.
The llama meaning also wants you to take a calmer approach when dealing with problems and to avoid making a bigger deal out of them. Know where you stand, and be confident that everything will turn out alright.”
Otter is about play. Otter makes everything a game, even when it is for survival. The game of finding food, the game of making relationships, the game of finding shelter, the game of defending family and territory, and the game of just playing for playing sake because it is goodness to play.
The otter also has power with the moon, is graceful in water (fluid in emotions!), intuitive, and quick acting.
I wonder about the golden eyes (Leopard) and green eyes (Jaguar)- or if it is just this photo.
We’ve had discussions about how a black leopard or a black panther are the only true black “big cats” (genus Panthera).
So – is your friend a black leopard?
Or a black jaguar?
From Transference Healing, Animal Magic, by Alexis Cartwright: Stag is a creator of independence, and those who draw on their energy achieve a greater sense of poise and dignity. Stag represents strength and power, and allows you to utilize your energy and stamina.
Stag is the symbol of Cernnunos or Herne, a fertility god uniting man and nature. Lord of fertility, sexuality, vitality in the forest, the hunt, animals, life, death, and the underworld, he is a Sun God representing the Male principle, logic, power, truth, healing, arts, music. He is a great sage and magician – the Sun to the Goddess’ Moon. He is born at winter solstice, dies at summer solstice to bring fertility to the harvest.
Stag wants you to honor him with ceremony and ritual, to develop your own power and goals by joining with others in similar circumstances and experiences. The Stag is the center of the circle, you are invited to join with others around the Stag. Stag allows you to tap into your warrior spirit, to empower your solar plexus and naval chakras, and develop more into the astral and inner realms, to connect your body to the light, and to your heart’s wisdom.
